House of Dürer

Discover the Dürer House, the place where Albrecht Dürer spent much of his life. "Agnes Dürer", the strong woman at the side of Albrecht, guides you through the art and the general work of the important artists of the Renaissance. She also gives an insight into the common life of the artist's family and speaks about the life and work with the art, from her work in the kitchen and home, of illustrious guests and hardworking residents of the building and her relationship to Albrecht Dürer. Living room, kitchen and painters office not only give an insight into the life of Dürer but also show the history of the proud and prosperous city of Nuremberg in the 16th century.

Kaiserburg

Above the town, on a sandstone ridge, stands the symbol of Nuremberg. The Kaiserburg served as the residence of emperors in the Middle Ages, from here they carried out their government business. Today, you can admire the emperor room decorated with paintings, carpets and furniture, and the double chapel, the deep fountain and an extensive collection of weapons and tools admire from that time. From the Freiung and the Sinwellturm one can enjoy a wonderful view over the old town of Nuremberg. Discover this beautiful, historically significant Imperial Palace!

New Museum

In the New Museum in Nuremberg, which already impresses with its architecture, you can admire modern art since the 1960s. Paintings, sculptures, photographs, video art and installations by artists such as Günter Fruhtrunk, Horst Antes, Gotthard Graubner, François Morellet, Bridget Riley, Armando, Nam June Paik and Thomas Ruff are the main emphasis of the collection "Art". In the collection "Design" you can experience design since 1945. The topics in this area are a tribute to Ettore Sottsas, the principle Readymade, Freischwinger, young designers and the Italian photographer Gabriele Basilico.
